Why Make a DevLog Blog?

So, I've decided to make a DevLog Blog to document my experience participating in my first ever Game Jam. 🎮 But why?

As a video game player my entire life, I've always had a keen interest in how they function and how they're created. For the past few years, I've spent countless hours watching video game development content on YouTube, and I've likely spent even more hours reading about the same topic.

One similarity amongst all of that content has been the strong encouragement from indie game dev's to participate in game jams. Most, if not all, describe the many ways in which these experiences truly helped them grow, not only in skillset and experience, but also in passion!

Listening to so many various developers enthusiastically speak on these "game jams", and how strongly they suggest anyone interested in game development to participate in them, made me look forward to the day I would be able to do just that. I'm thrilled to say that time is finally here!

At the time of writing this, the theme will be revealed and the game jam will begin, in just a few hours. Although I downloaded Unity for the first time about a week and a half ago, and have only been learning how to program in C# for about 2 months, I've decided to go for it! 😂

Talk about jumping in haha! However, as a current participant in the Microsoft Software and Systems Academy, it truly felt like the perfect time. I'm thrilled to be able to dive headfirst into learning the skills necessary to launch my dream career.

Wish me luck! 😉
